TIME TO DRIVE 55 AGAIN?” New global warming propaganda book by Doug Newcomb. Designed to con us into driving slower so we’ll use less gas. Unfortunately, since “time is money,” “driving 55″ will make us take longer to get anywhere, thus reducing our productivity and actually COSTING us more money than driving slower will save. It didn’t help last time they tried it, but that doesn’t stop them from trying it again. . . . “FREE LAWYERS FOR ABUSED WOMEN?” That’s a sexist notion. What about “free lawyers for abused MEN? . . . HDTV OR ETHANOL: If these are such good ideas, why do we need laws to FORCE people to accept them? Wouldn’t “the market” take care of it in “real life?” . . . AVAILABLE MONEY: If Democrats think we’re spending too much money on the war and not on their “social experiments,” why don’t we use the millions we give to Democrats for elections instead? . . . ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! That’s the Democrat line. But they never explain what we’re supposed to have gotten “enough” of. That “bumper sticker slogan” works both ways. The Democrats have been essentially “in control” of everything but (periodically) the presidency for more than fifty years. We’ve “had enough” of their socialism. We need to get rid of them. . . . HIGH FUEL TAXES: The liberals never talk about this, but one of the main causes of high fuel costs is high fuel taxes. The government, at all levels, takes “home” more money per gallon than the oil companies do, but WITHOUT the cost of finding and drilling, refining and moving it to market. For the government, it’s ALL PROFIT.
