“Minor Adjustments”

“MINOR ADJUSTMENTS: Whenever political ads in support of an amendment talk about “minor adjustments” that “benefits Coloradans” without details I reach for my pocketbook to make sure somebody hasn’t got his hand in it. It’s too bad supporters of these amendments don’t see fit to tell us what they are all about, but merely “summarize” them in such a way nobody really knows what they do. And before long, we’re paying millions more to the state government. . . . IS GOVERNMENT THE “CRIMINAL?” The answer is an unqualified YES! It is the policies of the Democrats to loan money to people who couldn’t possibly pay it back that’s at the bottom of this “fiscal crunch.” It HAD to happen. You can’t loan money to thousands of people who can’t pay it back without “your chickens coming home to roost.” They have. The “Community Reinvestment Act of 1977″ (the Clinton years) FORCED lenders to lend money to those who could not pay it back, to “avoid redlining.” But you don’t loan money to EVERYBODY whether or not he can pay it back without the whole thing collapsing eventually. NOW is “eventually.” And we’re allowing the very people who CAUSED this “crunch” to “try and solve it,” which will allow them to put more of our money in their pockets to add to that swindled out of us in the original swindle. . . . “NO OVERSIGHT”: The perpetrators of the “economic crunch,” the Democrats, are screaming that there was no “oversight.” Only one problem. There was. And they belittled it, calling the director of the agency “incompetent,” and ignored him. Bush tried 12 TIMES to “rein in Freddy and Fannie, but was successfully opposed by the Democrats, who are in the majority in Congress. Now they’re saying “it’s a consequence of eithe years of bush’s policies.” What unmitigated gall! It IS the result of FIFTY YEARS of DEMOCRAT policies, and now THEY’RE “in charge” of “fixing” the problem! Sheesh! Talk about the fox and the henhouse! . . . NANCY BLAMES THE GOP: She (Pelosi) says the Republicans “CAUSED the “economic crunch.” Good or bad bill aside, what about the 95 DEMOCRATS that voted against it? As I remember, it failed by about 20 votes. Where does she get that REPUBLICANS “sank it?” . . . COMPARE CROWDS: When Sarah Palin came to Denver to speak, people were lined up around several blocks from early morning to hear her speak. Now Michelle Obama is here, and they can’t find anybody to line up to hear her speak except a few who showed up later, not being worried about getting in. Does that tell anybody anything? . . . “PUTTING SARAH DOWN”: I listened to a college professor on TV this morning say that “no one expects much from Sarah, so that is her advantage.” And this is a college professor! How can he be so stupid and keep his job? Oh, I forgot. He can’t be fired unless he REALLY screws up. Think Ward Churchill. He REALLY screwed up and it almost took an “act of Congress” to get him fired.
