It’s Different Now
February 24, 2009 | | Leave a Comment
IT’S DIFFERENT NOW: The “fairness doctrine” was easy to “enforce” when it was imposed on a gullible public before Reagan killed it because there were far fewer “news” outlets, all on “the air,” which was CONTROLLED by the government. Now there are lots more, most NOT controlled by the government. Rush is already doing “podcasts” along with his web site and newsletter. I’d bet he’s ALREADY working on an INTERNET broadcast, just in case.
“FREEDOM OF SPEECH”: I heard a piece on CBS about a “graffiti artist” (wall defacer) who made that ubiquitous picture of Obama’s face that has appeared just about everywhere including the cover of Time Magazine, where he talked about his graffiti on other people’s property without their permission being an expression of “freedom of speech” Well, what about “private property?” It isn’t “freedom of speech” to deface SOMEONE ELSE’S PROPERTY with his “stencil/spray art.” He calls himself an “artist,” but his “art” is simply tracing (with an Exacto knife) other people’s work and putting it on other people’s property without permission. I don’t call that art.
DON’T CALL HIM BLACK: Obama chooses to call himself black, even though he’s equally white. That’s racism. Taking advantage of that part of him that is black. My father had ancestors who were full-blooded Cherokee Indian. Does that give me the right to call myself Indian? (I don’t believe in that P. C. name, “Native American” or whatever it is today.
THEY NEVER SPEAK OF IT: Liberals (Democrats) CAUSED the “economic slowdown” now afflicting us, but they pretend that “big business” and “Wall Street” caused it. When asked about it, they just turn and walk away. They will not speak of it except to blame Republicans and “the market” without any kind of proof.
“MILLION, BILLION, TRILLION: It’s easy to mix them up these days. Every once in a while I hear a newsperson say “million” or “billion” when he/she means TRILLION (or vice-versa). It’s an easy mistake to make when you don’t realize the difference.
“NOT PROFIT MOTIVATED?” Whenever someone tells me they are not “profit-motivated,” I “shut down.” I don’t believe them. I have two businesses, both of them “non-profits.” It wasn’t planned that way; that’s just how it’s turning out.
